Umi8 is their official 'scientific' name. They refer to themselves, however, as The Great Grumpy Galaxy.
They are genderless as they are actually just a galaxy, the body is merely a container for a tiny galaxy that contains smaller galaxies. You can see in their eyes the galaxies and stars they contain, the dying galaxies dissipate through the tail, and the clouds around the scarf is actually space dust that cumulates into stars and galaxies.
